President's letter 2-10-10
親愛的北美洲台灣人醫師協會南加州分會會員:
大家平安新年!
虎年如意吉祥終於到來，而南加州分會也完成了新舊交接，邱俊杰前會長業經功成身退，承蒙新任理事同仁的信任，棒子交到了小弟的手上，我的心中感到無法形容的惶恐，因為責任相當的重大。幸運的是，提名當選的理事陣容相當堅強，全体一致選出沈柏文醫師及侯淑玲藥師兩位副會長.，葉思雅醫師及許淑慧藥學博士兩位祕書長，南加州牙科泰斗之一的陳行五醫師繼任財務長，出版及編輯再由黃哲陽醫師來主導，洪玲玲醫師擔任公關。
尤其可貴的是南加州分會理事中第一次有較多年青女性成員參與，表示NATMA的普遍性有了明顯增加。本年度再一次得到專精內科的陳炤輝醫師以多年來豐富的經驗為決策團隊作貢獻，窮究聲樂的血管外科尃家張瑞政醫師以及曾任國際醫療義診召集人的牙科前輩林福田醫師也再留任，精於操刀整形的台美人第二代李圓圓醫師首次加入團隊，我們也有幸請到前NATPA教授學會會長蔡芳洋醫師參加理事會，令NATMA南加州分會如虎添翼，還有妙筆生花的內科長才蔡榮朗醫師和青年才俊陳正元驗光科尃家也是新任理事。
令我鼓舞的是顧問團隊有創會會長陳惠亭醫師，前總會會長林榮松醫師，前總會會長許正雄醫師，前南加州分會會長:
許宗邦醫師，許昭雄醫師，賴寅雄醫師，以及剛卸任的邱俊杰醫師，一共七位前輩們形成了二零一零年NATMA南加州分會顧問智囊團，這樣的隊伍來為本會觀前顧後就是我們今年再次成功的保証。
本年度的活動計劃總括如下:
- 一月三十一日下午二點到五點在洛杉磯僑教中心與幫幫忙協會協辦海地震災義演，本會認捐美金 $ 1,000元。
- 三月二十八日至四月九日澳洲紐西蘭二星期精華遊。
- 四月二十五日星期日早晨9:30AM在FWY57 Via Verde
Exit右側免費停車場集合後就開始 步行Bonelli Regional Park新春踏青健行，中午照往例去吃飲茶。
- 五月十六日星期日台美人傳統週台灣文化節北美洲台灣人醫師協會南加州分會醫療諮詢團隊擺有攤位，洗牙團隊攤位免費洗牙，醫師各科義診等三個攤位, 並設First Aid處應急。
- 九月十七日星期五開始星期六及星期日總會年會在St. Louis召開，敬請參加。
- 十月九日星期六預定在Pacific Palms Resort, City of Industry舉辦年會，有醫療講座CME以及NON-CME投資理財講座，晚宴有Keynote Speaker精彩之表演節目等。
- 十二月初舉辦心肺急救術CPR教育課程及醫學健康講座。
- NATMA網站www.natma.org成立了，裡頭有NATMA Southern California Chapter專用Page請多利用，可助增加南加會員聯繫。
親愛的南加州分會會員，醫師會友及醫事同仁們，NATMA是屬於大家的，需要大家全心愛護及支持，請多多參與我們的各項活動，也請大家參加永久會員，普通會員請於年初繳付年費。歡迎本會公關吳玲玲醫師加入永久會員，副會長沈柏文醫師公子Dr. Edward Sheen和公主Dr. Victoria Sheen加入為普通會員。附上: 1. 會員暨永久會員申請表 membership application/renew/update form 2. 踏青健行圖各一張。

Dear NATMA-SCC Members: 2-10-10
As we
welcome the Year of the Tiger, it is my great honor to serve as 2010 President
of NATMA-SCC. I appreciate all the trust
and confidence in me that was shown at our board meeting on 1-17-10. In 2009, under
the strong leadership of Dr. Alex Chiu, NATMA-SCC had accomplished many
excellent goals and sponsored many important events, such as International
Medical and Dental Missions, seminars, our Annual Convention, Spring Hiking,
golf tournament, etc. It will be hard
for me to follow suit. But I promise you
that I will try my best.
I really
appreciate Professor Yeh and Dr. Chen for continuing to serve as secretary and
treasurer of our Association and Alice Hsu as another secretary. I am very
pleased to have two Vice
Presidents Dr. Paul Sheen and Ms. Shu-Ling Hou, as
well as Dr. Ling Ling Hung in charge of Public Relations. This year, we also have many outstanding
members of the Board of Directors joining us. They are definitely a plus
for our association. We foresee a
wonderful and successful year.
Our tentative agenda for this year is the following:
- Haiti
Earthquake Disaster Fund Raising Stage Show sponsored by NATMA-SCC, with donations
of $ 1,000, to be held 1/31/10 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at TECO LA Culture
Center.
- We
will definitely have a NATMA sponsored travel trip to Australia and New Zealand from March 28 to
April 10.
- We
will meet for spring hiking at the free parking next to Via Verde Exit
from FWY 57 at 9:30am on Sunday April 25, 2010, before going to Bonelli Regional Park.
- Medical
mission - with free teeth cleaning and multi-specialty medical
consultation as well as medical lectures - to be held on May 16, 2010 at Monterey
Park during Taiwanese American Heritage Week.
- NATMA-HQ
Annual Meeting to be held from September 17-19, 2010 in St. Louis.
- NATMA-SCC
2010 Annual Convention at Pacific Palms Resort on October 9, 2010 with CME
and Non-CME lectures, a Banquet Keynote Speaker and entertaining shows.
- CPR
Certification and Medical Lectures to be held on the 1st Sunday
of December at the Greater Los Angeles Taiwan Center.
- NATMA
Website: www.natma.org is now
available for NATMA-SCC news.
NATMA-SCC need your support to move forward, the
Membership Fee is due at the beginning of the
new year, we encourage you to join Life Time Membership.
We welcome Dr. Ling Ling Wu to be our new Life-time Member, and Dr. Edward
Sheen and Dr. Victoria Sheen to be our new Annual Members. Enclosure please
